ABOUT
My work expresses a constant state of flux; images are born in-between thoughts, embodying transient moments. Shelters of memories collide with the present, revealing a place that is less defined. I am visually stimulated by the physical displays of construction from deconstruction inherent in evolving environments. These spaces are sacred, communicating a notion of presence within absence and leading to questions of the known and unknown place.
Experimental printmaking techniques are compatible with my need to excavate and explore in determining the true images. The veil-like qualities, corporeal elements and regeneration of printed materials resonate with me conceptually. Visual timelines are formed through mark making as a representation of the spiritual power in repetition and layering. Torn, unwanted prints and found materials are incorporated as collage to transform images and provide an ongoing discourse between printed material and drawing. I aim to develop a dialogue between works, manifesting restlessness and secrecy.
